It's cold outside

It was certainly cold and foggy yesterday, as I headed up to Silvan to collect more berries for Jam making.
Pam at Silvan Berrie Estate was out of Willamette raspberries, but in true country cooperation, she had contacted one of her neighbours, Peter Chapman who had. He is on 80 hectares and grows over 30 varieties of raspberries, cherries and a few peaches. We had a lovely chat, and it was obvious that his passion in good quality fruit comes from many years of experience. His farm is a family owned business, with a number of generations working together.
Peter had only finished picking last week the Autumn crop.

so jam it is. I made 20 jars of blackberry jam yesterday (I needed room in the freezer), and hope to make raspberry jam over the weekend.
