Exciting announcement! Journeys — My New Cookbook is Here!
From Melbourne to Morocco — my second cookbook “Journeys” is finally here!
It’s hard to believe how far this little adventure called Rie’s Kitchen has come. What began as a few handwritten notes and weekend cooking sessions has turned into a decade of filming, testing, and tasting our way through some of the world’s most vibrant food cultures. Along the way, Myles and I have explored local markets, taken cooking classes, and photographed countless dishes — from the colours of La Boqueria in Barcelona to the bustle of the morning markets in France. Journeys brings all of those experiences together in one book, filled with recipes, photos, and memories that shaped the way I cook today.
Inside you’ll find 110 recipes, each paired with a YouTube video link so you can cook along with me. These dishes span 11 seasons of Rie’s Kitchen — the recipes that have stood the test of time, been refined through plenty of trial and error, and shared with audiences around Australia. Some took real persistence (like the gluten-free gingerbread that took six batches to perfect, or the two versions of hot cross buns we just couldn’t stop improving), but each one earned its place in the book.
Every recipe in Journeys is gluten-free. Some are naturally so — like the baked ham with maple syrup and mustard glaze, which doesn’t need a single adjustment. Others have been specially developed to be gluten-free, and you’ll see that clearly in the title (for example, Gluten-Free Gingerbread). Whether you live gluten-free or simply love good food, these dishes are designed so that everyone can enjoy them together — no separate meals, no compromises.
As always, my recipes are about sharing: food that brings family and friends together, especially for celebrations like Christmas, when finding something delicious and safe can feel like a challenge. I hope Journeys helps you fill your table with food that feels festive, comforting, and inclusive.
For those in Australia, you can ask for Journeys at your local bookstore using the ISBN 978-1-7642721-0-0. I have found that Readings, Cook and Young I was able to order it. Sadly not all stores have it on their system. You can buy it through my store https://ries-kitchen.square.site
For readers outside Australia, Journeys is available worldwide through Amazon Kindle Direct Print-on-Demand under ISBN 9798343727920.
