Australia Day 2016

Australia Day means many different things and is celebrated in many ways. For most people it is a day off to celebrate with family and friends.
For the last four years, I have volunteered with the CWA (Country Women's Association of Victoria) at Government House in Melbourne. Here we provide a "pop up" cafe, serving freshly baked scones, home made cakes, biscuits and freshly cut sandwiches, at affordable prices, to the thousands of visitors taking advantage of the open house opportunity.

It was again a wonderful day! And I was pretty excited that all my gluten free jelly slice and chocolate brownies sold!

Thankfully we dont need to cook on these old cast iron stoves! thay are an asmazing feature of the old kitchen where we set up. This kitchen only stopped being used in 1953!
