Its Blood orange time again!

Boy does my kitchen smell fantastic!
The wonderful twang of citrus as I start my first batch of blood orange marmalade for the season.

Unfortunately my blood orange tree has not been able to supply any of the fruit for this year - the 7 small offerings are pretty good for a first season, but still have much promise. Myles and I have tried 3 so far - no hint of red on the skin or flesh. Have I bought a badly labelled tree? or is it just that Melbourne winter sun is insufficient to ripen these little ones??
